Rooted in Kajiado. Open to every voice.
We are Bus Radio 99.9 FM — a community station, a meeting point for ideas and a voice for the people who call Kajiado home.

A place for the questions that matter.
Bus Radio is a community radio station and community-based organisation operating from Ildamat ward in Kajiado Town. Our slogan, Sauti ya Kajiado, means the Voice of Kajiado — a reminder of our responsibility to the people we serve.
Our listeners bring different experiences to the airwaves: young people looking for opportunity, women shaping local development, pastoralists and farmers protecting their livelihoods, and residents asking questions about public decisions. We make space for all of them through local news, civic education, interviews, culture, music and sport — and listeners join in through calls, messages and social media.

To advocate for peace, harmony, justice and development in Kajiado County through community media.
To be the leading media platform advocating for inclusivity, justice, gender equality and transformative growth in Kajiado County and beyond.
Closer to the community.
Community dialogue
Local questions deserve local attention. Our programmes connect residents, leaders and specialists through civic education and public conversation.
Women & young people
We create room for participation, talent and new perspectives, with a focus on women, youth and people too often left out of public discussion.
Land & livelihoods
Farming, pastoralism and climate adaptation are part of everyday life in Kajiado. We take those experiences into our interviews and reporting.
Culture & connection
Swahili and Maa programming, local talent, music and sport help us share what makes our communities distinctive.

Local knowledge. A wider conversation.
Kajiado’s communities are at the heart of our reporting, from the county headquarters to the villages and trading centres our listeners come from. Online listening carries that conversation to Kajiado people wherever they are.
